In December, 1999, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded The Eagles the distinction of having the single best-selling album of the century. More people bought copies of The Eagles - Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 than of any other album from ANY other group. That's right - more than The Beatles, more than The Rolling Stones, more than U2, more than Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, KISS, Metallica, Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, more than ANY other band. Additionally, in March, 2001, the RIAA certified the band to be 3rd in all-time record sales. They trail only The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, and have exceeded all other bands. They enjoyed a renewed success in 1994 with the Hell Freezes Over release and subsequent tours and appearances. Now, with nearly every show selling out, The Eagles are on the road with their Farewell I tour, and will release their long-awaited new album in the Fall of 2007.
